Ok, just to clear things. I know Mario & Luigi were born in the Mushroom Kingdom, based on Yoshi's Island. The idea of them hailing from Brooklyn came from the non-canon Mario cartoons and the movie.

Robin Lee

followed up on that in this fanfic. I concur with Monica,

's theory of how the Marios may have been in Brooklyn at some point in their lives and returned to the Mushroom Kingdom, as seen in her comic. :3 [link]

I added the top flashback section to this fanfic. According to Robin, the joke about the pet shop fishing is from the Mario movie.

TRIVIA

Panel 1 is a reference back to my pic, "Winter Time." [link]

Panel 2 of course is from the cartoon. I went with my memory on their snappy sergeant.

Panel 3 was inspired by the Mario Japanese Anime. [link] I decided to make him worry about their plumbing business instead. ;]

Panel 4, I thought it'd be funny to have Luigi do the morning cooking and well, Mario's having burned duck or something. O.o;

I think the Brooklyn thing has been also established in Mario's Time Machine and one of the guide books, and I think the very FIRST cartoon with Mario was also set in the Real World.

Not too mention a lot of people gave them Brooklyn connections in art and fic. Huggles :iconnintendrawers: comic.

Even before I read your comments I thought of the winter picture in the first panel.
Second panel, I remember that episode. Their instructer was named Kooperman or something and had the same voice as Bowser.

Third one (not counting the round panel) I thought Luigi was dressed as Santa's Helper. Since times were tough and I guessed he got a second job during the holidays.

Fourth panel. Mario's face

Fifth and sixth. Fishing at a pet shop. Never thought of taking his brother upstate did he?

Ninth. Whoa! that tongue. He could eat like Yoshi now.

and way to go Peach. A bat is stronger than Perry, or a war fan, or a frying pan.

Another great page. Hopefully Peach knocked some sense into Luigi.

The first panel is so cute,I love it ^-^and the thing with the fishing is great xD It`s sweet how you draw this page and I have alrady read the fanfic. But I don`t like the ending verry much
